Selsed is a stunning three bedroom cottage, recently converted with care and compassion by the owners and set in the grounds of the historic Selside Hall. There are panoramic views from within the luxurious interior and fabulous country walks to be enjoyed right from the doorstep.
The quality fittings and finish to this tranquil retreat will ensure you enjoy a relaxing break in surroundings of the highest standard. Selsed has an open plan, fresh airy feel with the rustic character of oak beams and natural oak flooring throughout.
The entrance brings you into a charming lounge where three chunky sofas surround the multi-fuel stove. A welcome sight after a walk on the fells. A basket of logs is provided to fuel the wood burnerr and keep you warm and cosy.
The kitchen, with hand -made fitted units and granite worktops, has lovely panoramic views out over the meadows and tarn. It is equipped with all modern appliances including, integrated fridge, freezer, dishwasher and stylish electric range cooker which stands impressively in a tiled alcove.
The dining area enjoys stunning views of the Howgills and when darkness falls there is entertainment from the large flat-screen TV and DVD player.
The three bedrooms are all situated downstairs, feature oak flooring and their modern furnishings are a nice complement to the rustic charm of the property.
Bedroom one has a king-sized bed with orthopaedic mattress dressed with Egyptian cotton linen and fully tiled en-suite wet-room with heated towel rail and under-floor heating. There are fluffy towels and complimentary Pure Lakes locally sourced shower/hand gel and hand-cream to add a touch of luxury.
Bedroom two has a super-king size bed, which can be made into two singles (please advise prior to arrival). Again beautifully dressed this room is next to the bathroom which has bath with shower over, heated towel-rail and under-floor heating. You can enjoy the scenery whilst relaxing in the bath using the toiletries provided for your stay.
Both of these bedrooms have flat-screen TVs, as well as clock radios.
The third single bedroom, with views over the Selside Hall Tarns, is cosy and peaceful, ideal for a child or younger family member. And the main bathroom is only a few steps away.
The cottage is warmed throughout by electric panel heaters controlled by individual thermostats in each room for your choice and comfort.
Externally Selsed has its own garden,with table and seating,benefiting from magnificent views towards the Howgills, together with adjacent parking, shared BBQ area and access to the Tarns.
We welcome your dog at Selsed (max 2) who after an active day may enjoy the heated dog washing facilities. As we are in a farming/livestock area under control dogs and leads will need to be applied.
Please note that there are railed iron steps from the parking/garden area to the entrance of the cottage.
